Varna municipality will announce flu epidemics from January 26 to February 2, municipal officials said.
Schools and kindergartens in the region would call in flu vacation for the same period, Darik Radio reported.
The number of school absences has been increasing over the past days to exceed 30 per cent of the students.
As a part of the precaution measures hospitals will limit visits, consultations and surgeries.
Increasing number of schools throughout the country have been calling in flu vacations because of the big number of sick students. Schools in the Gabrovo, Kiustendil, Pernik, Pleven and other regions will stop working.
Once the flu epidemic was over schools would start coming up with plans for compensating the missed lessons, Focus news agency reported. The Education Ministry will monitor the process, just like it had been controlling the calling in of flu vacations.
