Investments in vocational development of the unemployed continued. In 2006, 31 153 people received vocational training, 3 294 more than in 2005.

A “new start” had been proposed to 20 316 unemployed young people under 24 years-old in the first 6 months after their registration at Labour Offices through inclusion in vocational qualification courses or a job offer. Nearly half of these started work on the primary labour market with the assistance of labour mediators.
