1. Fit for the finest.
Fancify your nuts by presenting them in this translucent glass bowl when gathered with stylish friends for drinks and appetisers. Or use as a centrepiece by placing sweets or fruit of complementing hues such as pomegranate, dark grapes, or luscious figs. This vibrant yellowish, handmade green bowl is made of opal glass, with an intriguing transparent inner layer and semi opaque outer surface. Bowl by Pasabasche, at City Center Sofia, price 37 leva.
2. Class in a Glass.
This glass stemware set is intended for use as champagne flutes, yet the silhouettes lean more toward white wine chalices, so use as you desire. Each set contains six sturdy glasses with different coloured accents, gold, purple, red, yellow, blue and green, thus drinkers will remember their colour and, switching confusion is avoided. "Coral" stemware set by Greek company Artcraft, found at the newly opened shop simply named Home. 57 Vassil Levski Blvd in Sofia, and 186 Varnechik Blvd, Mall of Varna, in Varna. Price 44 leva.
3. One man’s trash is another’s treasure.
Bulgaria is full of antique shops, as well as nostalgic items lying by refuse containers in neighbourhoods with opulent houses and buildings. This old brass sconce with a delicate flower-inspired shade could be used as a table lamp too, or décor as is. Antique lighting never withers in aesthetics, and suits all design styles. Check antique shops throughout the country for bewildering delights as well as the popular stalls in front of Alexander Nevsky in Sofia.
4. Water runneth over.
Water is the healthiest beverage, yet it can appear rather dull. Masquerade your daily dose as a sparkling concoction, or add lime slices and mint leaves for a makeshift Mojito cocktail. These retro-green water glasses have inner bubbles, each cup with a slightly different hue. Made in Greece, they are sold as a set of six, for 28 leva. Taller glasses are available too, and found at newly opened Home, on 57 Vassil Levski Blvd and in Mall of Varna.
5. No shrinking violet.
Place a few stems in this curvaceous purple vase and your room's spotlight is fashioned. Simpler flowers such as tulips will suit this involved glass piece, as well as flora of pink, or white or yellow complementing tints. A single orchid, or perhaps three, will result in a truly exotic sight. Handmade vase by Turkish shop Pasabasche, in City Center Sofia available for 38 leva for the smaller size, and 50 for a larger.
