Bulgarians pay a lot of attention to their appearance and tend to dress up rather than down. With most of the international glossy magazines also available here, worldwide fashion trends are as alive in Bulgaria as anywhere else. In recent years some local designers and brands have begun to produce excellent quality fashion clothing at reasonable prices. But you will also find well-known international brands have outlets here too and prices are neither more nor less expensive than abroad. Traditional areas of production in Bulgaria have been in the spheres of leather and fur production as well as shoes and silver and gold jewellery. Leather coats and jackets can be found at reasonable prices and there are some great locally made leather bags. The choice of jewellery is overwhelming. Just take a stroll down Vitosha Boulevard in Sofia or the shiny new malls to see what’s on offer. This section offers you more information on Bulgarian designers and the production of the local fashion world.
