Where to go, what to do and how to save.
Introduction
So far, contributors and editorial staff at Sofia Echo Media have identified 17 different ski stations across Bulgaria. Our Ski & Snow Board Guide to Bulgaria is designed to help you make plans BEFORE YOU ARRIVE in the country.
After all, there are many “free guides” available in resorts once you get there but we don’t really see the point of these. You are already there, after all, so apart from pointing you in the direction of their advertisers (and possibly a free town and lift map) we don’t see them as particularly useful!
The aim of this guide is not to educate you about the cultural history of Bulgaria or tell you when museums are open. It’s to tell you the best spots to ski and ride, where to stay and where to unwind after a day on the mountain.
Many visitors to Bulgaria are lucky if they can name more than one ski resort. We want to help all those who like to “hit the ground running”, or the more adventurous who see a road-trip exploring the numerous mountain ranges of the country as an alternative option to a package holiday.
This is a commercial guide. However, we are selective about recommending any accommodation, restaurants or bars we would not frequent ourselves (please see Note to Advertisers section). The cost of advertising covers the design costs and other expenses related to reviewing so many ski destinations in one country and, as yet, no one involved in this guide has been able to put their orders in for their new Aston Martin!
Maybe one day!
But until then, we are happy to give exposure to locations and outlets to help you enjoy your trip to and around this wonderfully diverse country.
We hope you enjoy skiing and riding the many peaks in Bulgaria and really hope you find the information in this guide useful.
If not…tell us!
