Bulgaria registered an economic growth rate of 6.5 per cent in 2006, Focus news agency reported. Foreign investment also featured among the positive developments, reaching more than four billion euro, Oresharski said.
The amount granted Bulgaria one of the first places in Europe based on the quantity of foreign investment attracted, Oresharski said.
Plans for 2007 were ambitious as well, he said. Economic growth rate needs to be maintained, as well as the strict fiscal policies and inflation levels.
Bulgaria's fund utilisation efforts, combined with the financial aid received from the EU were going to speed up social and economic development, Oresharski said.
