250M euro to be invested in improving Bulgaria's tourism sector
Tourist receipts in Bulgaria are expected to total six billion leva by 2013, the State Agency for Tourism (SAT) revealed at a presentation of the new National Strategy for Development in Tourism.
The aim is to increase revenue by continuing to attract foreign visitors and promoting a wider range of services, according to national television.
In order to maintain its appeal to foreign tourists, Bulgaria will invest 250 million euro in the tourist sector within the next five years. The resources will come from EU structural funds.
SAT chairperson Anelia Krushkova said that the strategy is needed in order to accrue future resources.
