Black Sea barbecues woo the crowds
ExpatinBulgaria.com along with Andy’s Foods travelled across the country last weekend to host three Black Sea events.
The first barbecue – last Friday in Balchik – managed to defy strong winds that sent our Sofia Echo and Expat banners flying through the air. Managing Director Andrew Sowray and Sales Director Simon Feek cooked up some treats of English sausages, bacon, cheese and hamburgers to delighted visitors at the Akrozo Bistro.
The barbecue the following night, at Varna’s Zu Bar, was a resounding success. The evening also coincided with a farewell party for the pub’s Darren Young, culminating in exuberant karaoke until the early hours.
In spite of inclement weather the best attended party was the final evening at a private house in Manastir, near Provadiya. Sue King and Paul Mansley graciously agreed to hold the barbecue at their beautiful lakeside home, ably assisted by visitors from the UK, Lance and Sam Bower who acted as bar staff for the event as well as the inimitable Bill and Jane Watson, Andy’s Foods incredibly professional representatives in Veliko Turnovo. Almost 60 people showed up for the final evening.
Part of the proceeds of all three events went to a very worthy cause, the One Life Charity. In addition to the barbecue, Andy sells delicious British foods that are elusive in Bulgaria such as digestive biscuits, your favourite brands of marmalade and Stilton and cheddar cheese. All these items can be ordered from Andy directly: http://andysfoods.com/ or phone 0885205553
