Bulgaria's Thracian Enigma enchants Maastricht
Thracian Enigma exhibition, featuring artifacts found in Bulgaria, will be on display in Maastricht until March 18.
The exhibition is part of the Maastricht Celebrates Europe programme and commemorates Bulgaria’s EU accession, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Spanish Government Museum hosts the Thracian artifacts. The exhibition is seen as one of the first steps in Bulgaria’s attempts to increase cultural co-operation with other EU member states.
"The popularisation of the achievements of our… cultures will help us get to know each other better and contribute to our common prosperity in a peaceful world," member of the governing board of the Arete- Fol Foundation Stoyan Denchev said during the opening of the exhibition.
A personal message from Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov concerning the exhibition said that he hoped for co-operation between Bulgaria and the Netherlands to expand beyond culture.
