Bulgarian pianist Alexander Raichev's master class looks at the colour of music

Bulgarian pianist and composer Alexander Raichev is offering a master class for pianists entitled Sound-Emotion-Art (Çâóê-Åìîöèÿ-Êàðòèíà). The course, which will be held from March 17 to 20 at the Boris Christoff Music Centre in Sofia, will focus the participants' attention on the synthesis between music and literary texts.

As such, attendees will be encouraged to enter into the emotional world musical creation, by taking experiences from their own lives to create motifs and dialogue. This is accompanied by analysing the sound characteristics of the compositions through comparing the results by means of "visual colours" of the tones.

Going with this is discussion of a variety of works selected by the fellow participants, the opportunity to try out one's hand in presenting musical compositions through text, to describe the colour characteristics in the tones and sounds of compositions, to learn inprove one's technique and to study sound extraction.

On March 20 at 6pm, participants will give a concert at the music centre. Registration for the course, which is held in Bulgarian, will take place on March 14 at 2pm at the centre. For more information, call 02/ 987 35 92.
