Café Scientifique puts art and science into the mouths of... us

Continuing with its initiative to bring science into everyday life, the British Council is hosting a Café Scientifique on March 25 at the Central Residence of the Architects’ Timeless Café Scientifique in Sofia.

Called Bio-Art: Collaboration between Science and Art, the discussion forum will have as guests members of the group Ultrafuturo (Boryana Rossa and Oleg Mavromatti) who will share their experience as participants in founding the Bioart Initiative at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and their collaboration with Symbiotica Research Lab at University of Western Australia, Perth.

The two institutions were “pioneers in the creation of a direct link between artists and scientists working together closely to popularise scientific research, related critical points and public debate”, a statement from the British Council read.

Rossa and Mavromatti will be accompanied by moderator Rossen Ugrinov. Café Scientifique is a forum for public discussion about science in street-ready language, which brings together specialists and non, without limits to age, but mostly for people who believe in informal formats for exchange of reliable information and debate.
