This weekend, December 13 and 14, Light for Life Foundation and Bulgarian Mothers Movement, two non-profit organisations, are holding Christmas bazaars to raise money for those who need assistance.
Light for Life was founded in 2001 with the goal of supporting and providing care for persons with disabilities. Its activities are focused on providing medical and social care for people with permanent physical and neurological disabilities between the ages of 18 and 65. Initiatives include family therapy and specialised transport services.
The Light for Life bazaar will be held on Saturday December 13 2008 from 10.30am to 2.30pm at Evangelical Pentecostal Church at 21 Bacho Kiro Str in Sofia. For sale will be handicrafts and other such items.
On a bit larger scale, Bulgarian Mothers Movement (BG-Mamma), an influential grassroots collective of Bulgarian mothers, will be holding its fourth annual Christmas bazaars around the country to help provide support for children whose parents have left them in orphanages. The money will go to buy supplies for the children's social care homes with which BG-Mamma works.
All items for sale at the bazaars are handmade with “heartfelt love” by the organisers.
