European experts fail finding major problems in Bulgaria's aviation
An expert evaluation that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) did of the Bulgarian aviation sector failed revealing major problems.
EASA inspected the chief civil aviation directorate and three Bulgarian aviation companies among which Bulgarian Air Charter, BHR and Air Sofia.
Bulgarian Airlines Association chief secretary Iovko Iotsev told Focus news agency that the specific results of the inspection will be announced within a month.
European experts examined the entire documentation of aviation companies, Iotsev said.
The European Commission decided shortly before Bulgaria’s EU entry to introduce restrictive measures on local aviation companies.
These measures were needed because of aviation security problems and the state of the Bulgarian civil aviation. Because of the restrictions Bulgarian air carriers will be treated as ‘third party’ representatives on the common European aviation market.
