Increasing number of low-cost carriers interested in Bulgaria's Bourgas Airport
Six air carriers will launch flights to the coastal city of Bourgas.
Among the companies to start flying to Bourgas feature low-cost carriers Germanwings, Sky Europe, Danish Sterling, Wizz Air and Norwegian Air Shuttle, Intellinews reported.
Germanwings will start its flight to Sofia on March 27 and the company plans to launch flights to the sea airports in Varna and Bourgas by the middle of May, 2007.
Bourgas Airport is expected to increase its passenger traffic by 10 per cent in 2007 to reach two million people. The airport will have new terminal by the end of 2009, according to plans.
Airport Council International (ACI) Europe said that the number of passengers at Bulgarian airports exceed 15 per cent in 2007. ACI Europe represents the interests of nearly 400 airports in 45 European countries.
