International tourism in Bulgaria produces 81 m euro revenue in January 2007
Bulgaria earned 81 million euro from international tourism in January 2007, State Agency for Tourism (SAT) head Analia Kroushkova said during discussion of the problems of summer tourism.
Revenue registered an increase of 7.28 per cent as compared to the figures for January 2006, Bulgarian news agency BTA said.
Bulgarians spent 104.1 million euro on travels abroad during the same period. They spent 11 per cent more than in January 2006.
Kroushkova said that over-construction in Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastal resorts “was worsening and will keep on deteriorating Bulgaria’s tourism product.”
Bourgas regional governor Lyubomir Panteleev said that the region suffered severe infrastructure problems.
