Postbank launches Bulgaria's first APS device
Postbank, majority owned by Greek lender EFG Eurobank Ergasias, launched Bulgaria's first Automated Payment System (APS) device, which will eventually help make cash deposits outside branch offices, the bank said in a statement on April 7.
The maiden device was installed at the Sofia bank branch on 14 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. Two more devices will be installed by the end of the week, outside its Nadezhda and Shishman branches. Another two should be operational in Varna and Plovdiv by the end of the month.
Currently, the bank is working on upgrading APS device functionality. Initially, the device will only help pay credit card dues. Later, the devices will process deposit and payment services, including payments to public institutions such as the National Social Security Institute and the National Revenues Agency.
All transactions are free of charge, the bank said.
Postbank is one of the two lenders EFG Eurobank owns in Bulgaria, the other being DZI Bank. Together, the two banks make up Eurobank EFG Bulgaria, the country's fifth-largest lender.
