Val Kilmer with Fake Identity in Sofia
Even though this will not be his first time in Bulgaria, and usually Hollywood actors shooting here remain invisible to the public, the news that Val Kilmer is coming back to Sofia is exciting.
Filming is scheduled to begin on September 30 at the Nu Image/Millennium Films studio in Sofia.
The internet movie database IMDB reveals that the film's crew is extensively Bulgarian. Together with Kilmer's name is listed only the name of Bulgarian actor Velislav Pavlov as Aslan, his character.
Director is Dennis Dimster-Denk, who co-wrote the script with Zvia Dimbort. Executive producers are Nu Image's Avi Lerner and Trevor Short.
The actor just recently finished the filming of Werner Herzog's remake of the 1992 Bad Lieutenant crime drama with Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes.
Kilmer also appeared in the Streets of Blood with Sharon Stone and rapper 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson). Both pictures were shot in the Nu Image's Louisiana studio.
