Village in Bulgaria gets 300 000 euro for sanctuary restiration
The Bulgarian village of Tatul, located in Momchilgrad Municipality, received 300 000 euro from the PHARE programme for the restoration of a Thracian rock sanctuary.
Tatul deputy mayor Sevdalin Ognyanov said that the project dates back eight years and was finally nearing completion.
Work on the project named Tatul: Orpheus' Sanctuary will start in May, 2007, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Tourists will have the opportunity to use the services of trained tourist guides at the site.
The project will include excavation works, restoration and the conservation of the site.
A stone road leading to the sanctuary, signs and infomation boards will be also provided.
